Meet your surgeon before cataract surgery

Cataract surgery is one of the safest and most effective surgeries performed today, but if you’re planning to have cataract surgery the thought of someone working on your eye can still be a bit unnerving. You may have questions about the procedure, what it will feel like, what you can expect, and also want to have a chance to meet and get to know your surgeon.

Unlike some ophthalmology practices in our area, at Tower Clock Eye Center our surgeons are part of your preoperative assessment. During your cataract consultation, you’ll meet your surgeon and have an opportunity to review your visual needs, your goals for surgery, and have all your questions answered.

Tower Clock Eye Center surgeons meet with patients before cataract surgery

Your consultation is a great opportunity to get to know your surgeon, but it’s also important for your surgeon to get to know you and your eyes. During your assessment, your surgeon will complete a full examination in order to confirm your cataract diagnosis, be sure your eyes are otherwise healthy, and note any findings that may require an adaptation in surgical technique.

At the end of your consultation your surgeon will review the final surgical plan, ensuring that you’re comfortable not only with the options you’ve selected, but also comfortable with your surgeon. At other area practices it’s not uncommon to meet your surgeon only moments before the surgery starts. We don’t feel that this is ideal for the patient or the surgeon, and doesn’t allow for the best surgical outcomes.

Our goal is always to put the patient first and make sure you’re confident in your upcoming cataract surgery. At Tower Clock Eye Center, you’re more than just another set of eyes.
