Pinguecula explained
Watch Dr. Matthew Thompson, MD, describe what a pingueculum is and how they're treated at Tower Clock Eye Center. These non-cancerous growths on the conjunctiva are fairly common and caused by sun exposure.
***ATTENTION PATIENTS***
Tower Clock Eye Center physicians will temporarily limit routine eye exams at all their facilities in Northeast Wisconsin for the next 30 days as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The move aims to limit the spread of the virus by anyone potentially infected.
“Our goal is to clear the clinic as much as possible for those patients who require more urgent evaluation and follow up exams,” says Kurt Schwiesow, MD, an ophthalmologist at the clinic. “We need to maintain access to care where needed while protecting the health of our patients, staff, and community,” he added.
Patients due for routine exams will be rescheduled on a case by case basis. Those who require urgent care will be triaged or have their care handled over the phone, if possible. The clinic asks that only those friends or family members essential to the appointment accompany patients to their visits.
The clinic has already implemented special measures at their clinics by rescheduling affected patients, disinfecting surfaces throughout each location and providing protective measures to patients and employees. Tower Clock Eye Center will continue to assess this evolving situation daily.
