Pinguecula explained
Watch Dr. Matthew Thompson, MD, describe what a pingueculum is and how they're treated at Tower Clock Eye Center. These non-cancerous growths on the conjunctiva are fairly common and caused by sun exposure.
Last weekend Dr. Matthew Thompson instructed residents and fellows on MSICS (Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery) at the University of Illinois – Chicago. The surgical technique is often used in developing countries where expensive surgical tools are not available. Dr. Thompson utilizes these skills during his frequent mission trips to Haiti.
This experience helps Dr. Matt treat advanced disease that other doctors may not be comfortable treating because they don’t encounter problems this advanced in their regular practices.
