Pinguecula explained
Watch Dr. Matthew Thompson, MD, describe what a pingueculum is and how they're treated at Tower Clock Eye Center. These non-cancerous growths on the conjunctiva are fairly common and caused by sun exposure.
Tower Clock Eye Center’s Dr. Kurt A. Schwiesow, MD, was chosen to be among the first ophthalmologists in the country, and the first in Wisconsin, to utilize a second-generation iStent device called iStent inject ®.
Dr. Kurt is part of an early experience program that leads into the device’s official release August 27.
iStent is known as the world’s smallest medical device and is designed to help control eye pressure for glaucoma patients. It is implanted at the time of cataract surgery.
The updated iStent technology is actually two separate smaller devices, when compared to the already tiny original iStent. Studies show the two stents can further reduce eye pressure of glaucoma patients.
Tower Clock Eye Center is excited to be part of this early experience program, which parallels the clinic’s mission to provide the latest proven technology to our patients.
